Friday Nov. 19th

History 30 (Band)
  • Notes on: Reason for the Age of Exploration & (specifically) Jacques Cartier.
  • Assignment on the "Early French Settlements."  This is due for verbal discussion on Tuesday Nov. 23rd.
Econ 30
  • Went over homework from Wednesday's class on supply, demand & the market.
  • Began to go over a note on "The Spectrum of Markets."  This examines the characteristics of different markets such as: monopolies, oligopolies (homogeneous/differentiated), pure competition, & monopolistic competition.
History 30
  • As a class we brainstormed the reasoning behind confederation.
  • Went over through notes & video clips the stages of Confederation (Charlottetown, Quebec, & London Conferences).
  • Remember Lord Durham assignment is due on Monday the 22nd.
Law 30
  • Work period on their Law Newspaper assignment.  There is less than a month until it is due.
Psych 20
  • Finish watching the movie "Glory."  Work period on film questions.
  • Also went over & assigned groups/countries for our large project this term on cultural awareness.

Thursday Nov. 18th

Econ 30
  • Review sheet on Chapters 5/6 for next week's test (Nov. 25th).  This sheet will have students review their notes to create a 2 page study sheet for this upcoming test.  This must be handed in the day of the test for marks to be awarded.
History 30
  • Note on The Durham Report.  This is followed by a guided worksheet asking students to analyze a copy of the Durham Report.  This assignment will be due Monday the 22nd.
Law 30
  • Note on Legal Defenses. Examines legal defenses such as: alibi, automatism, mental disorder, mistake of fact, self-defense, double jeopardy, and others.
Psych 20
  • Continuing to watch the movie Glory as a film study of social distance.

History 30 (Band)
  • Last work period on Museum assignment. 
Econ 30
  • Went over terms: equilibrium, market-clearing price, surplus, shortage, & effect on price of shifts in demand/supply.  Homework: questions 2, 3, & 4 (a/b) on page 112 due tomorrow.
History 30
  • Went over note on the background to the 1837 Rebellions.  Tied it in with 1791 Constitutional Act, oligarchies (Family Compact, Chateau Clique), & responsible/representative government.
Law 30
  • Criminal Law test.
Psych 20
  • Continuation of the movie "Glory" and the impact of social distance on prejudice & stereotyping.

    Tuesday Nov. 16th

    Econ 30
    • Finish going over questions on Supply & Demand and how they interact to raise/lower prices.
    History 30
    • Went over the note on the War of 1812.  Specifically targeting the reasons behind the war and it's conclusion.  As an added bonus the students watched the War of 1812 song sung by Three Dead Trolls.
    Law 30
    • Went over a note on Participants in a Crime.  This explores the concept of aiding, abetting, counseling, accessory after the fact, etc.
    • Reminder Criminal Law test tomorrow.
    Psych 20
    • Went over homework on Attitudes & Prejudice.
    • Began watching the movie "Glory".  This movie explores the concept of social distance and prejudice.

    Monday Nov. 15th

    History 30 Band
    • 2nd last work period on the museum assignment.  This must be done at the conclusion of Wednesday's class.
    Econ 30
    •  Went over results from the Marvelous Melon Market game from last Wednesday.  
    •  Began going over questions assigned from last week.
    History 30
    • Going over note/worksheet that covers 1800-1840.  This is due for tomorrow.
    Law 30
    • Review period for Criminal Law test on Wednesday.
    Psych 20
    • Hand in On the Sidewalk Bleeding assignment.  
    • Reading and questions on Attitude Formation & Prejudice.  We will go over these verbally tomorrow in class.
